A series of precious fabrics originating in the continent of Africa, jealously guarded, meticulously scanned and graphically reworked. AfroXentric, the new collection/homage to the history and traditions of this continent, proposed by the Emilian wallpaper design house. Thus a wallpaper collection comes to life which recounts the meeting of two different cultures, with the goal of conveying all the allure of a continent whose hypnotic force and infinite charm are expressed through the harmony of contrasts. AfroXentric thus reveals a range of wallpapers with refined poetic character and a delicately unusual style, expressed through a polyphony of lines and geometries offered in tenuous contrasting nuances, outlining the layout of a graphical manifesto with a rigorous and sculptural style, with an expressive force at times hypnotic and alienating. The colours are those of the unspoiled lands of Africa, with its immense rivers and lakes, mountains and rainforests, before finally reaching the savannah and the desert. They are the colours of a warm, pure and primordial land: the red of the sinuous dunes, the terracotta of the earth within the villages, the ochre of the expanses of savannah, the green of the ancient baobabs, the bright blue of the sky and the intense shades of the spectacular African sunsets.
In this collection, I was involved in the design of the graphics. With Gabriella I followed the creative process translating creative thoughts in original images and emotional decorations that explore the purity of colors and the infinite universe of shapes and perspectives.
